Bobby Sherrill

Mr. Bobby Sherrill, age 74 of Fayette, died Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at Fayette Medical Center. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 8th at 1:00 p.m. at the Fayette Church of God. The body will lie in state at the church from 12 noon until 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Fayette Memorial Gardens cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Norwood Chapel. Mr. Sherrill was born April 9, 1936 in Fayette to Elbert and Wilma Holliman Sherrill. He was a life-long resident of Fayette and was a member of the Fayette Church of God. He owned and operated the Sherrill Shell service station for many years and retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 18 years of service as a mail carrier. Survivors include his wife Lois Lowery Sherrill of Fayette; two sons, Philip E. “Bud” (Angie) Sherrill of Northport and Darren E.(Laura) Sherrill of Fayette; one brother, Buddy (Faye) Sherrill of Fayette; two grandchildren, Philip Sherrill II and Dusty Sherrill; three great grandchildren, Dustin Sherrill, Levi Sherrill and Brianna Sherrill. Pallbearers are Philip “Bud” Sherrill, Darren Sherrill, Philip Sherrill II, Dusty Sherrill, Dustin Sherrill, Levi Sherrill, Brianna Sherrill and Tyler Simpson.
