Malcolm Douglas Daniel, age 80 a native and lifelong resident of Fayette, AL, died January 25, 2011 at the Fayette Medical Center. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 28th at 2:00 p.m. at the Fayette First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bryan Sisson and the Rev. J. Barrett Lloyd officiating. Burial will follow in the Fayette City Cemetery with Norwood Chapel of Fayette directing. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Norwood Chapel. Malcolm was the son of the late Douglas Daniel and Mildred Jeffries Daniel. He was educated in the Fayette schools and spent over three years in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War where he rose to the rank of Sergeant. He was retired as Co-owner of Fayette Bonded Cotton Warehouse. “Mac” was an avid sportsman and enjoyed spending time fishing at his vacation home on the Tombigbee River. Most of all his greatest pleasure came from his being the doting husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather of his cherished family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Lauretta Daniel Bayless, his son-in-law Larry Brasher and many other close relatives. Survivors include his beloved wife of 56 years, Malinda Robertson Daniel, his daughters, Dottie Daniel Brasher and Jeanie Daniel Hindman and her husband Dale Hindman; grandchildren Jeffrey Daniel (Ronnie Rena) Brasher, Dustin Allen (Donita) Hindman, Henry Nicholas Galiano, Daniel Chase Hindman, Leila Jane Bayless, Mary Katherine Hindman and Malinda Clara Hindman; great-grandchild, Lara Elizabeth Brasher; sisters, Jean Daniel Ricks and Frances Daniel (Wayne) Jacox; his nephew George Jacox and many cousins. Pallbearers will be Daniel Brasher, Dustin Hindman, Nicholas Galiano, Bill Jeffries, George Jacox , Benny Jeffries and Daniel Hindman.
