Elvano Hardy

Mr. Elvano Hardy, age 85 of Fayette, died Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at Fayette Medical Center. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 17th at 11:00 a.m. at Norwood Chapel with Bro. Don Elledge officiating. Burial will follow in the Wesley Chapel cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Norwood Chapel. Mr. Hardy was born June 4, 1925 in Lamar Co. the son of the late W.B. and Zelma Dodson Hardy. He was employed for thirty years with the City of Fayette Sanitation Dept. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Minnie Jane Hardy in 2009, a sister, Evelyn Watkins and a brother, E.L. Hardy Survivors include one daughter, Rita Harkey of Winfield; one son, Ted (Doris) Hardy of Fayette; one sister, Shelby Watts of Fayette; seven grandchildren, Amanda Pinion, Leanna Harkey, Heather Harkey, Zachary Hardy, Tracy Hardy, Hanna Hardy, Luke Hardy and six great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Bill Dunn, Mike Simmons, Matt Meadows, Jeff Fortenberry, Michael Simmons and Luke Hardy. Norwood Chapel of Fayette directing.
