Nellie Spears

Mrs. Nellie Irene Spears, age 83 of Fayette, died Thursday, June 9, 2011 at her residence. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 12, 2011 at Norwood Chapel with the Reverend Kathy Griffith officiating. Burial will follow in the Fayette Memorial Gardens cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00-2:00. Mrs. Spears was born November 2, 1927 in Mississippi the daughter of the late Prentiss Alderson and Octavia Lassiter Alderson. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Glenn Spears; one son, James Wright Spears; two sisters, Eva Dale Fort and Sue Pierce. Survivors include two daughters, Teresa Irene (Doug) Barberry of Maryland and Glenda (Bart) Robertson of Fayette; three sons, Willie Glenn (Patty) Spears of Ohio; Richard Henry (Pat) Spears of Fayette and Michael Ray (Janet) Spears of Guin; and one sister, Earnie Oaks
