Ruby McCoy

Mrs. Ruby McCoy, age 91 of Fayette, died Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at the Generations of Vernon Care Center. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 13th at 11:00 a.m. at Norwood Chapel. Burial will be in the Fayette Memorial Gardens cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10-11 a.m. Mrs. McCoy was born July 23, 1920 in Cottondale, AL to Early Estes Mathews and Bula Weaver Mathews. She was married November 13, 1937 to Huey James “Jake” McCoy, Jr. and to this union four children were born. She was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family. She always had to give equally tight hugs to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mrs. McCoy was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter, Lavada Faye McCoy McReynolds, her parents, two sisters, Margie McCoy and Eula Miller; three brothers, Herman Mathews, Norman Mathews and Aaron Mathews. Survivors include three sons, James Estes (Glenda) McCoy, Kenneth Wayne (Sherry) McCoy and Danny Paul (Linda) McCoy, all of Foley, AL; one son-in-law, Arnold McReynolds of Millport, AL; six grandchildren Susan Mittenzwei , Las Vegas, NV; Laurie Mitchell, Columbus, MS; Amanda McCoy, Fayette, AL and Joshua McCoy, Foley, AL; four great grandchildren, James Mitchell, Rhonda Mittenzwei, Megan McCoy and Ashley McCoy. Pallbearers are family and friends.
