Mr. Hollis Roberts, age 78 of Belk, died Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at DCH Regional Medical Center. Graveside services will be held Friday, December 9th at 2:00 p.m. at Wesley Chapel cemetery with Rev. Larry Harkness officiating. Mr. Roberts was born December 28, 1932 in Arkansas the son of the late Eugene Henry Roberts and Fannie Raper Roberts. He was a resident of the Belk area since 1976. He recently retired from N&N Trucking Co. where he was employed for thirty years. Mr. Roberts is a veteran of the U.S. Army and served his country during the Korean War. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Nora Lee Turner, Leland Roberts, Cecil Roberts, Leon Roberts, William Roberts, Claudie Roberts, Ruby Barnes, Bessie Sroskinki and Arnold Roberts. Survivors include his wife, Brenda Newman Roberts of Belk; one son, Rex Roberts of Memphis, TN; two step-daughters, Lisa (Harold) Nance of Columbus, MS and Lori McCormick of Monroeville, AL; three sisters, Ellen Whitehead (James), Julie Pollard and Lucille Gist all of Winfield; one grandson, Hunter Roberts; four step-grandchildren, Samantha Dunn, Ashley Dunn Meeks, Chase Ethridge and Carley McCormick.
