Pattie Nell Buckley

Pattie Nell Buckley age 77 of Sulligent, Alabama passed away Monday, December 19, 2011 at the Golden Living Center in Winfield, Alabama. Pattie was born on May 26, 1934 in Fort Worth, Texas, the daughter of Rev. and Mrs. Marion Buell Buckley later of Natchitoches, Louisiana. She was a resident of Charleston, South Carolina before moving to Sulligent, Alabama. She graduated from Sulligent High School in the Class of 1952 and made her home in Sulligent after retiring in October of 1991 after 37 years in service with AT&T in Charleston, South Carolina. She was a member of Mulberry Springs Baptist Church and enjoyed the fellowship of the members there. She attended Druid City School of Nursing, University of Alabama in Pre-Nursing, and University of Montevallo. She was active in the Lamar County Republican Executive Committee and a past officer of the Telephone Pioneers. She is survived by a nephew, Thomas (Shirley) Flanagan of Norfolk, Virginia, a niece Cathy (Mike) Moody of Cornelius, North Carolina, a niece, Katherine (Bill) Garstka of Huntsville, Alabama, a niece, Nancy (Charlie) Elwis of Keller, Texas, a niece Mary (Keith) Preuniger of Anadarks, Oklahoma, and one cousin Janie (Lloyd) Warner of Plain City, Ohio. She is preceded in death by her parents Rev. and Mrs. Marion Buckley, one sister Faith Flanagan, and one brother Paul McDowell. Graveside Services will be held Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at the Sulligent City Cemetery at 11 AM. Bro. Glen Boman officiating. Norwood Funeral Homes, Inc. of Sulligent, Alabama directing.
