Jared Porter

Jared Cyle Porter, age 23 of Coker, died Wednesday, December 28, 2011 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 1, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Norwood Chapel with Bro. Ronald Collett officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Norwood Chapel. Jared was born September 13, 1988 in Baton Rouge, LA the son of Jeffrey Carl Porter and Wynette Campbell Porter. He was a former resident of Northport for 11 years and a current resident of Coker for the past 12 years. Survivors include his mother, Wynette Porter of Berry; father, Jeffrey Carl Porter of Baton Rouge, LA; Step-father, Keith Allen Pate of Coker; two sisters, Jaraka C. Porter of Fayette and Jahna C. Porter of Jasper; two brothers, Jeffrey “Doopy” Porter and Jonathan “Chucky” Porter both of Berry; grandfather, Douglas Westbrook and grandmother, Carolyn Sprinkle Westbrook of Berry; Aunt, Yvonne Wold and Uncle, Thomas Wold of Greenwill Springs, LA; two nieces and two nephews. Pallbearers are Brandon White, Jesse Starbrough, Joseph Trotter, Seth Channell, Terron Channell and Kevin Holman.
