Wilson McCracken

Mr. Wilson Dewitt McCracken, age 83 of Northport, died Friday, February 17, 2012 at his residence. Graveside services will be held Monday, February 20th at 11:00 a.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church cemetery with Rev. Scott McQueen officiating. Mr. McCracken was born June 29, 1928 in Fayette County, the son of the late Edgar and Claudia Spiller McCracken. He was a resident of Tuscaloosa County most of his life and had been a resident of Northport for the past twenty years. He was a U. S. Army veteran and served his country during the Korean War. He worked for B.F. Goodrich for thirty-five years and retired in 1985. Mr. McCracken attended Lakewood Baptist Church and First Baptist of Tuscaloosa. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter, Teresa Hughes on Dec. 30, 2011, his grandson, Charles Haag in 2011; and a brother, James Albert McCracken. Survivors include his wife Nina Porter McCracken, son, Albert McCracken, son (grandson) Kristopher McCracken all of Northport; two granddaughters, Angela Haag and Mary White of Tuscaloosa; one great-granddaughter, Nadia White; sister-in-law, Louise McCracken of Tuscaloosa.
