Gracie Williams

Mrs. Gracie Magalene Williams, age 86 of Berry, died Monday, March 19, 2012 at DCH-Noland Hospital in Tuscaloosa. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 23rd at 2:00 p.m. at Alta Baptist Church with Rev. Eric Milligan officiating. The body will lie in state at the church from 1:00-2:00. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Norwood Chapel. Mrs. Williams was born August 7, 1925 in Walker County, the daughter of the late Wiley and Rose Crownover Brand. She was a resident of Berry since 1948. Mrs. Williams was a Homemaker and a member of the Alta Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willie “Bill” Williams; two brothers, Henderson Brand and Joe Brand; four sisters, Frances Frost, Julie Kimbrell, Lenora Capps and Allie Palmer; and one granddaughter, Laura Williams. Survivors include one daughter, Rosemary Terry of Toney, AL; four sons, Kenneth Williams of Blue Spring, MO; Garry Williams and Danny Williams both of Berry; and Keith Williams of Fayette; sixteen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
