Mr. Reginald Louis Pruitt, age 67 of Fayette, died Saturday, April 21, 2012 at DCH Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 28th at 11:00 a.m. at Unity Grove Baptist Church with Rev. David Sparks and Rev. Leon Cotton officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery. The body will lie in state at the church from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Mr. Pruitt was born January 28, 1945 to the late Lester & Mary Doughty Pruitt. He graduated from West Highland High School in 1963. He attended Brewer College and graduated from Stillman College in 1986. He was Assistant Basketball Coach for Stillman College from 1986-2001. Mr. Pruitt is a veteran of the U.S. Army and served his country during the Vietnam War. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Parks. Survivors include his wife Kimberly Sanderson Pruitt of Fayette; four sons, Darryl (Sherry) Pruitt of Urbandale, Iowa; Ronald (Sherri) Pruitt of Tuscaloosa; Omar (Ashley) Pruitt of Birmingham and Travers (Jenice) Pruitt of Hawaii; step-daughter; Cecely Sanderson; step-son, Andrew Wallace; 18 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; one sister, Theresa Smith of Fayette; one brother, Steve Wilson of Fayette; two aunts, Sarah Goodwin and Zetta Tilliery of Fayette. Pallbearers are Aaron Nalls, Troy Pruitt, Todd Sanderson, Jessie Daniel, Ken Spark, Jr. and David Odom. Honorary pallbearers are Bobby Savage, A.M. Pruitt, Alan Pruitt and Arthur Sudduth.
