Sue Bickerton

Mrs. Sue Bickerton of the Boley Junction Community the wife of the late John Bickerton passed away Sunday at her residence. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Union Grove Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery. The body will lie in state at the church from 10:00-11:00. The visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Norwood Chapel. Mrs. Bickerton was born November 30, 1934 in Cullman, the daughter of the late William Raymond Benefield and Alma McCain Benefield. She retired from the Contel/Verizon Phone Company where she was formerly employed for nineteen years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Bickerton, son Jerry Bickerton and brother, Ray Benefield. Survivors include her son, James (Jim) Bickerton; two grandchildren, Todd Bickerton and Timothy (Rebecca) Bickerton; three great grandchildren, Kaytie, Shawn and Tameron Bickerton; and one sister, Faye (Crawford) George. Pallbearers were Chad Brueggemann, Buck Brueggemann, Michael Terry, Dewayne Wallace,Danny Tharp, Glen Bowles and Randall Bowles.
