Mrs. Ina F. Gilpin, age 86 of Fayette, died Thursday, July 5, 2012 at Fayette Long Term Care Center. Funeral services were held Sunday, July 8th at 2:00 p.m. at the Macedonia-Gumbud Baptist Church with Dr. Dale Mitchell officiating. Burial followed in the Fayette Memorial Gardens cemetery. Mrs. Gilpin was born September 17, 1925 in Bankston. She was a resident of Fayette County most of her life and was a member of the Macedonia-Gumbud Baptist Church. She formerly worked at Fayette Manufacturing and worked many years at the Gilpin Dairy. Mrs. Gilpin loved fishing. Survivors include three daughters, Amy Boyd, June Teter and Gail (Mike) Gladden; one son, Van (Beth) Gilpin; one sister, Gladys Sawyer; two grandchildren, Tana (Steve) Fuller and Chris (Jackie) Gladden; two great grandchildren, James Fuller and Alex Fuller. She was preceded in death by her husband, W.V. “Bill” Gilpin, parents Murray and Vergie Fowler; sisters, Mary Ruth Parker, Ora Ward, Kate Freeman, Susie Pettit, and Evacile “Bunt” Simpson; brothers Mark Fowler, Sherman Fowler, Willard Fowler, and Millard Fowler; grandson, William Burt “Lil Bill” Mitchum and son-in-law, Don Boyd. Active pallbearers were grandsons and nephews. Honorary pallbearers were members of Gumbud Church and the staff of Fayette Long Term Care Center.
