Mr. Thurston Ruell Hindman age 86 of Belk, passed away Thursday at the Hospice of West Alabama in Tuscaloosa. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 11, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Norwood Chapel with Bro. Tommy Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in the Antioch cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 – 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Mr. Hindman was born January 26, 1926 in Covin, the son of the late Esker and Mattie Lou Waldrop Hindman. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served his country during World War II. Mr. Hindman was formerly employed as a Butcher with Big Star for 30 years and School Bus Driver for 20 years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Erskine Hindman and Hulon Hindman; two sisters, Genna Lovelace and Charlotte Hallmark. Survivors include his wife, Willodean Belk Hindman; two daughters, Yvonne (Chester) Aldridge of Kennedy and Sheila (Rick) Youmans of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; one son, Hank (Janet) Hindman of Fayette; three sisters, Eva (Freddy) Yerby of Northport; Clara Dean (Wayne) Foster of Fayette and Martha Jones of Northport; one brother, Lewis (Jane) Hindman of Fayette; five grandchildren, Greg Aldridge, Joey Aldridge, Tessa Patton, Tara Gann and Ron Stokes; five great grandchildren, Mallory Aldridge, Jessalyn Wallace, Taylor Wallace, Marlaina Patton and Sofi Gant. Pallbearers are Greg Aldridge, Joey Aldridge, Heath Wallace, Bobby Hindman, Rickey Ary, and David Hindman.
