Mrs. Margaret Belk, age 83 of Belk, died Thursday, August 21, 2012 at DCH Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 23rd at 2:00 p.m. at Belk Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Lamar Cox and Rev. Ed Nabors officiating. Burial will follow in the Antioch cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Norwood Chapel. Mrs. Belk was born June 2, 1929, in Mississippi, the daughter of the late Sam Glover and Isabella Daniels Glover. She formerly worked for United Technology in Columbus, MS for 36 years. She was a member of the Belk Free Will Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gwyn Belk, her son, Ricky Belk, son-in-law, Harold Jones, two sisters, Evelyn Ivy and Betty Sue Davis; two brothers, Walter Glover and William Glover. Survivors include her daughter, Sheila Jones; daughter-in-law, Gail Belk; sister-in-law, Ozella Glover, four grandchildren, Rick Belk, Cindy (Mike) Hubbert, Jennifer (Chad) Maddox, Benji Jones; seven great grandchildren, Taylor Belk, Maci Fields, Kailee Hubbert, Chase, Carson and Caden Maddox, and Courtney Thompson. Pallbearers are Tim Whitson, Ralph Carroll, Micky Watkins, Joe Lane Waldrop, Dave Lisowski, Tim Jenkins, Macky Watkins and Henry Morrison. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Brian Wilhite, Dr. Phil Hemstreet, 6th Floor South and ACCU of DCH, and Belk Senior Citizen Center.
