Robert "Bob" Weeks

Robert “Bob” Weeks, age 79, of Sulligent, Alabama passed away Tuesday, October 23, 2012 in DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He was born on September 20, 1933 to the late Robert L. Weeks Sr. and Annie Mae Stanford Weeks. Bob graduated from Sulligent High School and from Florence State College, where he played football. He was active in his church as a deacon and Sunday School teacher. He was on many boards including the Northwest Alabama Mental Health Board, Lamar County Hospital Board, Lamar County Board of Directors – Alfa, and the Tombigbee Electric Board of Directors. He also was inducted into the Lamar County Sports Hall of Fame. Bob was an Army veteran and retired from Production Control at 3-M Company. Survived by his wife Shirley Weeks, two sons: Craig (Lisa) Weeks and Alan (Rhonda) Weeks, both of Sulligent, Alabama, two daughters: Nina (Jack) Dyer of Frostproof, Florida, and Alice (Greg) Green of Calhoun, Georgia, 11 grandchildren: Brian Weeks, Amber Weeks, Adam Weeks, Robbie Weeks, Chris Mikeal, Hannah Green, Douglas Dyer, Camille Weeks, David Dyer, Luke Green, and Isaac Green, and 5 great grandchildren, Ryleigh Beth Weeks, Tyler Weeks, Aydin Weeks, Paytyn Weeks, and Analise Weeks. Preceded in death by his parents: Robert L. Weeks Sr. and Annie Mae Stanford Weeks, one son, Robert Douglas Weeks, and one sister, Wynell Weeks Boyett. Services held on Saturday, October 27, 2012 at 4:00 PM from the First Baptist Church Sulligent, AL with burial in Sulligent City Cemetery. Bro. Byron Pickering officiating.
