Mr. John A. "Bunny" Lark, age 73 of Fayette, died Friday, January 11, 2013 at Fayette Medical Center. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013 at the Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Benny W. Henry officiating. The body will lie in state at the church from 12:00-1:00 p.m. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. The visitation will be Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Norwood Chapel. John Aldren “Bunny” Lark was the first born child of Ruth Wilson and Obra Covington. He departed this life on Friday, January 11, 2013 at Fayette Medical Center DCH, Fayette, AL. “Bunny” was a 1957 graduate of Fayette County Training School. He left in the early 1970s and went to Michigan to live for several years before moving back to Fayette in 2007. He was employed by Chrysler Corporation for several years and was also a self-employed Electrician. He confessed hope in Christ at an early age and united with St. James C.M.E. Church, Fayette, AL. After moving to Michigan he became a member of Turner Chapel C.M.E. Church, Mt. Clemens, MI. He was a quiet, gentle man who loved to fish and loved to tell jokes and make people laugh. “Bunny” was united in holy matrimony to Louise Freeman in 1964 and to this union, Amanda Lark was born. “Bunny” was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Jimmy Dale Covington, Los Angeles, CA. He leaves to cherish his memory, one brother, Rochester (Joicy) Lark of Huntington Station, NY; one sister, Judy Thompson, of Arkansas; two children: Alan (Willie Anne) Pruitt of Tuscaloosa, and Amanda (Will) Henry of Fayette; two stepchildren: Russell (LaShebha) Hughes of Pontiac, MI and Cheryll Stewart of Lilburn, GA; two grandchildren: Alexandria Henry, Fayette, and Keona Pruitt, Tuscaloosa; three step-grandchildren: Carla Stewart, Norcross, GA, Samino Hughes and Spencer Hughes, Pontiac, MI, a sister-in-law, Bobbie (Milton) Douglas of Mt. Clemens, MI, a brother-in-law, Rusty (Marilyn) Freeman, Birmingham, AL; a special cousin, caregiver, Bennett Kemp, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
