Willie Lee Nolden

Mr. Willie Lee Nolden, age 83 of Bankston, died Friday, May 10, 2013 at Fayette Medical Center. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 16, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at New Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Carthell Nalls officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery. The body will lie in state at the church from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. Mr. Nolden was born May 18, 1929 in Fayette, the son of the late Marshall Nolden, Sr. and Ethel Mae Wilson Nolden. He was a life-long resident of Bankston. Mr. Nolden was retired from Arvin Industries . He was a member of the New Grove Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Leon, Marcellus, Calvin, Eli, and Veli Nolden; three sisters, Eva Waldrop, Nannie Richardson and Margaret Espy. Survivors include his wife, Gay Nell Nolden of Bankston; three daughters, Barbara Jiles (Robert) of Bankston; Brenda Nolden of Northport; Gloria Thomas (Cedric) of Cottondale; three sons, James Lee Nolden of Jasper; Willie Dale Nolden (Martha) of Bankston; George Nolden of Bankston; five sisters, Mae Ella Pickens, Dessie Rea Smith, Jeannette Hunter, Bernice Wilson and Martha Faye Nolden; one brother, Marshall Nolden, Jr.; eighteen grandchildren and thirty-five great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be grandson and nephews. Norwood Chapel directing.
