Mrs. Lorene Pike, age 91 of Berry, died Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at Ridgewood Health Care Center in Jasper. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 8, at 2:00 p.m. at Davis Chapel Free Will Baptist Church with Bro. Lynell Early officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery. The body will lie in state at the church from 1:00-2:00. The visitation will be Friday evening from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Norwood Chapel. Mrs. Pike was born October 25, 1921 in Fayette the daughter of the late John D. Patton, Sr. and Ester Skelton Patton. She was a life-long resident of Berry and was a member of the Davis Chapel Free Will Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie Pike, two grandsons, Scott Tubbs and Timothy Ambrose; four brothers and three sisters. Survivors include six daughters, Betty Pike of Berry; Marty (George) Ambrose of Atlanta, GA; Jean Pike of Atlanta, GA; Johnnie (Comber) Tubbs of Cottondale, AL; Barbara Davis of Nashville, TN; Sandy (Johnny) Ryan of Berry; one son, Felix Pike of Berry; one brother, B.C. (Nelda) Patton of Aliceville, AL; eight grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Craig Tubbs, Shawn Ryan, Jeff Ambrose, Michael Bridges, Chris Bridges and Mark Patton.
