Mr. Johnny Williamson age 78 of the Northside community, died Sunday June 30, 2013 at DCH Regional Medical Center. Funeral Services will be Tuesday July 2, 2013 at 2:00 p. m. at Norwood Chapel, Fayette, AL with Bro. Terry Joe Oswalt and Bro. Joe Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Boone cemetery. The visitation will be Monday from 6:00 -8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Williamson was born April 19, 1935 in Fayette County, the son of the late Theron and Pearl Taylor Williamson. He was a resident of the Samantha and Northside area since 1966 and was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church. He owned and operated Williamson logging for many years and formerly worked at Central Foundry. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Delmarie Sanford. Survivors include the mother of his children and the love of his life, Doris Williamson; two daughters, Phyllis Olive (Ken) of Tuscaloosa and Becky Williamson-Martin (Benny) of Northside; three sons, Larry Williamson (Danita) of Northside; Ricky Williamson (La Wanda) and Ken Williamson (Michelle) of Tuscaloosa; five sisters, Mae Ola Harbin of Berry; Kathleen Kimbrell (Cecil) of Fayette; Jo Ann Sanford (Herman) of Berry; Sue Kimbrell (Karl) of Northside and Linda Skelton of Berry; one brother, Billy Williamson (Merlene) of Berry; thirteen grandchildren and twenty-six great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Shane Smith, Russell Olive, Matthew Williamson, Dex Stanley, Jeff Williamson, Greg Allen and Chris Hoover. Honorary pallbearers are former employees of Williamson Logging Co. and Friends and Neighbors of the Northside and Samantha Communities.
