Mary Florence Humbers

Mary Florence Humbers, age 83 of Sulligent, Alabama, died Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at the Fayette Medical Center in Fayette, Alabama. She was born in Lamar County to the late Robert Riley and Frances (Sweeton) Walden Humbers. She had lived in Sulligent most of her life and was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. She had worked as a seamstress at Munsingwear and as an aid at the Convalescent Center. She enjoyed reading her Bible and Alabama football. She also enjoyed caring for her nieces and nephews and caring for her mom and dad before they died. Survived by one sister-in-law: Jimmie (Humbers) Barnes of Sulligent, Alabama, one brother-in-law: Edward Barnes of Sulligent, Alabama, two nieces: Wanda (Rodger) Guthery and Carolyn (Roger) Egger both of Sulligent, Alabama, six great nieces and nephews: Ammie (Juston) Day of Robertsdale, Alabama, Johnny (Misty) Guthery of Smithville, Mississippi, Jennifer (Edward) Goode of Sulligent, Alabama, Rebecca (Shawn) Arnold of Berry, Alabama, Johnathan (Heidi) Egger of Tremont, Mississippi, and Lisha (Riley) McDonald of Kelso, Washington, and nine great-great nieces and nephews: Marietta Guthery of Smithville, Mississippi, Sierra McDonald of Sulligent, Alabama, Carleigh Goode of Sulligent, Alabama, Billie Claire Goode of Smithville, Mississippi, Madison Arnold of Berry, Alabama, Douglas Egger of Tremont, Mississippi, Annabell Egger of Tremont, Mississippi, Riley McDonald of Kelso, Washington, and Rascal Day of Robertsdale, Alabama. Preceded in death by her parents: Riley and Frances (Sweeton) Walden Humbers, one brother: Arie Humbers, and one nephew: Roger (Stump) Humbers. Services held Friday, August 30, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. from the Norwood Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Macedonia Cemetery. Bro. Glenn Hughes and Bro. Regan Rye officiating.
