Mrs. Wilma Davis Gammon, age 95 of Fayette, died Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at Fayette Long Term Care Center. Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 21, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Norwood Chapel with Bro. Larry Fife and Bro. Kaleb Hall officiating. Burial will follow in the Fayette City Cemetery. The visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 1:00 -2:00 p.m. Mrs. Gammon was born August 12, 1918 in Berry, the daughter of the late William Walter Davis and LaEuna Belle McCaleb Davis. She was a resident of Fayette for 68 years and was a member of the Fayette Church of Christ. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, crocheting and working in her flower garden. She loved Braves baseball and Alabama football. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Gammon in 1959, three brothers and two sisters. Mrs. Gammon is survived by two daughters, Nancy (David) Meeks of Tuscumbia and Mary (Ben) Hightower of Fayette; four grandchildren, Michael (Meghan) Unger, Jeffrey Unger, David (Brandi) Hightower and Mark (Bethany) Hightower; three great grandchildren, Bryant Unger, Libby Unger and Hayden Hightower. Pallbearers will be Michael Unger, Jeffrey Unger, David Hightower, Mark Hightower, Brent Parker and Jimmy Trigg.
