Clara Mae Whitson

Mrs. Clara Mae “Aunt Clara” Whitson, age 81 of Berry, died Thursday, December 26, 2013 at Fayette Medical Long Term Care. Funeral services will be held Sunday, December 29, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Cedar Grove Church with Pastor Tim May officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery. Mrs. Whitson was born January 23, 1932 in Fayette, the daughter of the late Andrew Jackson Aldridge and Vada Mae Moore Aldridge. She was a resident of Berry for sixty years and a former resident of Bankston for twenty years. Mrs. Whitson was a homemaker and a member of the Berry Nazarene Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Bradley Whitson; one daughter, Frances Jones; step-daughter, Doris Shinn; step-son, Karrold Whitson; two grandchildren, Cody Milligan and Anthony Sanford ; one sister, Irene Blalock. Survivors include son, David (Jo Ann) Whitson of Bankston; daughters, Patricia Milligan of Berry; Wanda (Bill) Brown of Fayette; Rose (Dana) Cope of Patterson, LA; step-daughters, Esta Mae Nuckols of Berry; and Betty Kimbrell of Mt. Olive; step-son, Milford (Rose) Whitson of Bankston; son-in-law; Robert Jones of Parrish; sisters, Corene Baumgartner of Fayette and Estelle Blalock of Abbeville; Eugene Aldridge of Fayette; Clarence Terry (Jerri) Aldridge of Dover, TN; Edward (Carolyn) Aldridge of Fayette; eleven grandchildren, seventeen step-grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Grandsons.
