Mrs. Helen Taylor Hobbs, age 91 of Hollister, MO, formerly of Belk, AL, died Thursday, January 30, 2014 at Cox Medical Center in Branson, MO. Funeral services will be held Sunday, February 2, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Norwood Chapel with Rev. Lamar Cox officiating. Burial will follow in the Fayette Memorial Gardens cemetery. The visitation will be Saturday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Norwood Chapel. Mrs. Hobbs was born March 21, 1922 in Fayette County, AL, the daughter of the late Arlie and Mellie Abbott Crowe. She was a resident of Missouri for the past eleven years and a former resident of Belk, AL most of her life. She served as Post Master at the Belk Post Office for thirty years. Mrs. Hobbs was a member of the Belk Free Will Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, John D. Taylor and Loal Hobbs, two brothers, Dewey Crowe and Joe Jack Crowe; and one sister, Ruth Crowe Maddox. Survivors include her daughter, Linda (Ron) Page of Hollister, MO; her sister, Evelyn Smallwood of Branson, MO; extended family members, Gary and Julie Leach and children, Samantha, Austin and Brent of Branson, MO; three sisters-in-law, Emma Dell (Andy) McMahon of Blythewood, SC, Ruby Hobbs and Irene Hobbs of Bessemer, AL and several nieces and nephews.
