Mary E. Roberts

Mrs. Mary E. Roberts, age 75 of Fayette, died Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at her residence. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 10, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Norwood Chapel with Rev. Jerry Thomas Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Shady Grove cemetery. The visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Mrs. Roberts was born October 1, 1938 in Lamar County, the daughter of the late Thomas Anthony Roberts, Sr. and Bessie Hester Roberts. She was a resident of Fayette for thirty-one years and a former resident of Jacksonville, Florida for thirty years. Mrs. Roberts was formerly employed as bookkeeper for Branyon Oil Company for fifteen years. She was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church. Mrs. Roberts is survived by her husband, James D. Woodward and one brother, Thomas A. Roberts, Jr. Pallbearers are cousins.
