Mr. William R. “Bill” Gray, age 82 of Fayette, died Sunday, June 8, 2014 at Fayette Long Term Care Center. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Norwood Chapel with Brother Rodney Ward officiating. Burial will follow in Fayette Memorial Gardens. Mr. Gray was born October 18, 1931 in Columbus, GA, the son of the late Theodore and Nettie Louise Gray. He was a resident of Fayette since 1952. Mr. Gray is a veteran of the U. S. Army and served his country during the Korean War. He was formerly employed with Arvin Industries. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Maxine Gray, one son, William Thomas Gray, granddaughter, Andrea Gray and one sister, Daphine Golden. Survivors include four sons, Richard Gray of Jasper; Wade (Renee) Gray, Mark Jason (Linda) Gray and Adam Judd (Kim) Gray of Bankston; fourteen grandchildren, Daniel (Misti) Gray, Bret and Farrah Chambless; Mark (Casey), Bridget, and Mason Gray; Jessie Cartwright, Jerlisa Swanigan; Tia, Cameron and William Warren; Stormi and Will Gray and Kristen Logan; eleven great grandchildren, Brayden and Hayden Gray; Brayden and Madelyn-Kate Gray; Brady and Lexie Chambless; Tucker Chambless, Kason, Zander and Sadie Cox, and Skylah Metcalfe; a very special friend of the family that Bill loved as a daughter, Deanne Vice and a very sweet man that has come close to Bill and his family, Luther Clay. Pallbearers are Mark Gray, Will Gray, Cameron Warren, William Warren, Daniel Gray, Danny McCaleb and Patrick Raley.
