Doris Maddox Murray

Mrs. Doris Maddox Murray, age 70 of Trussville, formerly of Fayette, died Thursday, July 24, 2014 at her residence. Graveside services will be held Saturday, July 26, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at Mt. Lebanon cemetery with Rev. Raymond Spann officiating. Mrs. Murray was born December 3, 1943 in Fayette County, AL. She was a resident of Trussville for fifteen years and a former resident of Birmingham for fifty years. She was formerly employed with the Birmingham News Advertising Dept.for forty years. Mrs. Murray was preceded in death by her husband, William Duprin “ Bill”Murray; her father, James Ludy Maddox and one step-grandson, Will Murray. Survivors include one daughter, Cynthia Wimsatt Middendorf of Union , KY; one step-daughter, Peggy Murray (Joe) Robbins and one step-son, Bill (Sally) Murray of Trussville, AL; her mother, Mildred Maddox of Fayette; one sister, Glenda Maddox of Fayette; two grandchildren, James Thomas Middendorf, III and Evan Maddox Middendorf of Kentucky; two step-grandchildren, Chris Murray of Montgomery, and Nick (Bethany) Murray of Homewood. Pallbearers are Jim Woodward, Ricky Maddox, Bill Murray, Nick Murray and Chris Murray. Honorary pallbearers are Thomas Middendorf and Evan Middendorf. Norwood Chapel directing.
