Mrs. Jane Arthur Moore, age 92 of Fayette, died Monday, November 10, 2014 at her residence. Funeral services will be held Friday, November 14, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Fayette First United Methodist Church with Dr. Steve Strange officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at the Fayette First United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the Fayette City Cemetery. Mrs. Moore was a life-long resident of Fayette. She graduated from the University of Alabama in 1944 and was a member of Kappa Delta Social Sorority. She was a lifelong artist and lover of the Arts and was an original member of the Fayette Art Museum Board on which she served for many years. She was active in many civic organizations in Fayette including the Colonial Dames. She was a faithful member of Fayette first United Methodist Church. Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Louis Poe Moore on Sept. 1, 2014; her parents, Grover Cleveland Arthur and Bessie Jane Richards Arthur, brother, Richard Arthur and sister, Bernice Arthur Prater. She is survived by two daughters, Jane Moore Yawn and son-in-law Perry Yawn of Statesboro, Georgia and Retta Moore Clark and son-in-law Steve Clark of Johns Creek, Georgia; grandchildren, Retta Yawn Bland (Mike), Logan Clark Dumitrescu (Andrei) and Chasen Clark; great-grandchildren, Edmond, Will and Caroline Bland and Elena and Jack Dumitrescu. Honorary pallbearers are members of the Friendship Sunday School. Active pallbearers will be Chuck Langley, Dale Lawrence, Alexander Wilson, Theron Nolen, Harlan Prater IV, and Alan Tisdal.
