Mrs. Charlene Blakney Keeth, age 73 of the New Lexington community, died Monday, March 9, 2015 at DCH Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held Thursday March 12, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Norwood Chapel with Bro. Joe Jones and Charles McCool officiating. Burial will follow in the Salem cemetery. The visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Norwood Chapel. Mrs. Keeth was born September 5, 1941 in Fayette, the daughter of the late Jim Blakney and Ruby Greene Blakney. She was a resident of the New Lexington Community for 47 years. She retired from the Fayette Cotton Mill in 1997. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Ray Keeth in 1996, her grandson, Bradley Kurtis Keeth, two sisters and four brothers. Survivors include two daughters, Pam McDaniel (James) and Lisa Curington (Tim) both of New Lexington; one son, Gene Keeth of Gu-Win; two sisters, Shirley McCool of Seymore, TN and Virginia Eglinton of Carpenterville, IL; one brother, Wyman Blakney of Belk; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Gene Aldridge, 6th floor South DCH employees, Dr. Susan Bostick, Dr. John B. Crew, Employees of Lewis and Faye Manderson Cancer Center and 1st floor MICU Staff.
