Mr. James “Jim” Dudley Woodward, age 68 of Fayette, died Saturday, June 6, 2015 at DCH Regional Medical Center. Funeral services, with military honors, will be held Friday, June 12 at 11:00 a.m. at Norwood Chapel with Rev. Steve Spray officiating. Burial will follow in the Shady Grove cemetery. The visitation will be Thursday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Jim was born May 12, 1947 in Fort Royal Virginia, the son of the late Jett and Doris Noakes Woodward. He was a resident of Fayette over 30 years and formerly worked as a carpenter and electrician. He most recently worked with Jerry Higgins. Jim was a veteran of the U.S. Marines and served his country during the Viet Nam War. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Ann Hilliards. Survivors include his wife, Judy Kay Howton Woodward; three sons, Mickeal Woodward, Matthew Woodward and Brian James Woodward all of Virginia; one step-daughter, Lacy Carver (Paul) of Tuscaloosa; two sisters, Brenda Poole (George) and Rose Saffell (Mikeal) of Virginia; two brothers, Johnny Woodward (Dixie) and Tommy Woodward (Kathy) of Virginia. Honorary Pallbearers are Jerry Higgins, Dale Bozeman, Anthony “Buck” Jones, Dian White, Geraldine Thompson and Tammy Jones.
