Wylodine (Dean) McGowan age 83 of Guin, AL passed away on July 11, 2015 at her residence. Born in Lamar County on September 9, 1931 to Thomas Murphy and Magnolia Lawrence Franks and the wife of the late George McGowan. She was a member of the Piney Grove Free Will Baptist Church and retired from Munsingwear as a supervisor. She loved flowers, sewing, crafts ,baking cakes, talking with family and friends on the phone, her computer and Facebook. Survived by three daughters: Betty Higgins (Ken) of Northport, AL, Jackie Moore (Scotty) of Fayette, AL and Debbie Campbell of Huntsville, AL, four grandchildren: Anthony Campbell (Ashlee) and Melissa Horton (Randy) both of Birmingham, AL, Shane Campbell (Jade) of Gordo, AL and Monica Harbin (Shae) of Northport, AL, five great grandchildren: Lexie, River, Millie, Lily and Emmy Jane, two step great grandchildren: Lexi and Logan, three sisters: Maggie Lois Dubose, Eula Mae Dubose and Jewel Rae Franks all of Vernon, AL, host of nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents: Thomas Murphy and Magnolia Lawrence Franks, her husband George McGowan, one sister and three brothers. Services held Sunday, July 12, 2015 at 3:00 PM from the Norwood Funeral Home chapel with burial in the West Alabama Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Bro. David Crowe officiating. Visitation: Sunday, July 12, 2015 from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM at the funeral home just prior to the service time.
