Charles Davis

Mr. Charles “Pop” Davis, age 62 of Fayette, died Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at his farm. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 7, at 2:00 p.m. at the Fayette First United Methodist Church with Dr. Steve Strange and Rev. Sam Junkin officiating. Burial will follow in Fayette Memorial Gardens. The visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 1:00 -2:00 p.m. Charles was born September 4, 1952 in Fayette, the son of W.C. Davis and the late Frances Vick Davis. He was a life-long resident of Fayette and was a self-employed Farmer. He formerly worked for Vick Pontiac Tractor, Bynum Automotive and State Farm Insurance Co. Charles was a life-long member of the Fayette First United Methodist Church. Survivors include his sweetheart and wife of 42 years, Nancy Cochran Davis of Fayette; his daughter, August (Sam) Junkin of Fayette; his son, Charlie ( Brandi) Davis of Fayette; father, W.C. Davis of Fayette; three sisters, Kathy (Larry) Wright of Fayette; Martha (Rich) Potter of Tupelo, MS and Frannie (Wade) O’Dell of Fayette; three grandchildren, Laura Junkin, Lilly Beth Davis and Ella Davis all of Fayette. Active pallbearers are Jason “Little Buddy” Norris, Alva Grimsley, Paul Masengale, Bob Renfroe, Carl Porter, Dennis Fisher and Charles Ed Wilson. Honorary pallbearers are High School Breakfast Club, Dr. Charles Nolen, Jr. & Staff, Phillip Cochran, David Cochran, Terry Cochran and Tim Cochran, Fayette Ag Employees and Bowen Oil Field Services. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Fayette First United Methodist Church.
