Mrs. Amy Oswalt age 87 of Fayette passed away Friday, October 2, 2015 at the Fayette Medical Center. Funeral Service for Mrs. Oswalt will be Monday, October 5, 2015 at 2:00pm at Norwood Chapel. Robert Fullerton, Dalton Eason, Jr. and Jerry Colquett will officate. Burial will follow at the Oakgrove Cemetery. The visitation will be Sunday from 5:00 pm until 7:00pm at the Norwood Chapel. She was born January 3, 1928 in Fayette County, the daughter of the late Jessie Hamilton Fullerton and Amy Caroline Hobbs Fullerton. She was a native of the Stough community and a 1947 graduate of the Fayette County High School. She formerely worked at the Fayette Cotton Mill. Mrs. Oswalt's favorite hobbies were gardening her vegetables, reading, sewing, watching birds, and most important, being a grandmother. Mrs. Oswalt is survived by:3 daughters, Jimmie (Mike) Hardin of Fayette, Sarah (Dennis) Smith of Guin, Lora Elinburg of Brookwood, 1 son, Tommy (Ana) Oswalt of Northport; 7 grandchildren: Paul and James Hardin, Nicholas and Stephen Smith, Mark and Jon Elinburg and Caroline Wright; 6 great grandchildren: Abby and Brock Hardin, Torie and Sophie Hardin, Jon Caleb Elinburg, and Amy Wright.; Preceded in death by her husband, James E. Oswalt; 2 brothers, J.C. Fullerton and David Fullerton; 3 sisters: Obera Forsythe, Bryan Burns, Faye Eason Pallbearers: Paul & James Hardin, Nicholas & Stephen Smith, Mark & Jon Elinburg.
