Leland Barnes

Mr. Leland Henry Barnes age 68 of Bankston passed away Wednesday December 23, 2015 at his residence. Funeral Service for Mr. Barnes were held Monday at 2:00pm at the Berry United Methodist Church with Rev. Kathy Griffith officiating. The visitation was at the church Monday from 1:00pm until 2:00pm. Burial followed at the Berry City Cemetery. Mr. Barnes was born January 20, 1947 the son of the late Ralph Barnes and Alice Henry Barnes. He had been a resident of the Bankston Community for over 35 years and was a member of the Berry United Methodist Church. Survivors include one daughter, Allyson (Jonathon)Booth of Fosters; two sons, Clayton Barnes of Prattville, Al. and William Barnes of Montgomery, Al.; one sister, Mary Ruth Shepherd of Berry, Al.; five grandchildren, Taylor Barnes, Austin Barnes, Kyndall Fortner, Samantha Booth, Teagan Crocker He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, William Randall Barnes and a brother in law, JC Shepherd. Pallbearers were: David Shepherd, Phil Shepherd, Tim Fields, Jonathon Booth, Ronnie Hathcock, George Simpson, T.D. Agnew, Mike Moore Norwood Chapel Funeral Home in Fayette, directing.
