Charles McClain, Sr.

Mr. Charles A. McClain, Sr. age 71 of Fayette passed away Saturday January 9, 2016 at the Fayette Medical Center. Funeral Service for Mr. McClain was held Sunday at 2:00pm at Norwood Chapel with Rev. David Wilson and Rev. Don Sanders officiating. Burial followed at the EL Bethel Cemetery. The visitation was held Sunday from 1:00pm until 2:00pm at Norwood Chapel. Mr. McClain was born July 13, 1944 the son of the late William Liston McClain and Mollie Cockrell McClain. He was a life-long resident of Fayette and formerly worked for Twin Mills Sawmill. He was a member of the Sand Springs Baptist Church. Survivors include one daughter, Christy (Chris) Irvin of Winfield, Al. one son, Charles “Charlie” ( Mandy) McClain of Fayette, one grandson, Joshua Charles McClain; two sisters, Kathleen Wagnon, of Fayette, Al., and Rita (Glenn) Davis of Townley, Al.; one brother, James “Buddy” (Jean) McClain of Fayette Pallbearers were Jody McClain, Davin McClain, Alan Davis, Will McClain, John McClain, Carl Davis, and Brian Davis. Honorary pallbearers were Shawn McClain, David Olive, and Joey Olive. Norwood Chapel Funeral Home of Fayette, directed.
