Jo Ann Sparks Hughes departed this life on Monday, November 7, 2016 at Hospice of West Alabama. Services will be held Thursday, November 10 at 12:00 p.m. at Norwood-Wyatt Chapel. Visitation will be held Thursday, November 10 from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. at Norwood-Wyatt Chapel. Burial will follow at Fayette Memorial Gardens. She was born to Joseph E, Sr. and Thelma Sparks on March 15, 1946 in Fayette, Alabama. She attended school in Fayette, Alabama. She was a member of Peaceful Rest Baptist Church. During her earlier healthier years she worked in the kitchen of her church. Jo Ann had many hobbies gardening, crocheting, and knitting. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Arthur; parents; and a very dear loving aunt (Bammar). She leaves to cherish her memories a loving sister, Patricia Brown; loving brother, Joseph (Janice) Sparks; nieces, Tonya L. Sparks, Janeene (Clarence) Mays; nephew, Joron (Leslie) Sparks; special cousin, Eddie (Shirley) Williams. Pallbearers will be Calvin Files, Mark Whiteside, James Thomas Whiteside, Felix Cain, Guy Wilson, Howard Whiteside and Bernard Peoples. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of West Alabama.
