Wesley Eugene Sanford, age 79 of Fayette passed away November 19, 2016 at home. Services will be Monday, November 21, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Norwood-Wyatt Chapel with Bro. Marshall Sutton and Bro. Rodney Brazil officiating. Interment will follow at Pilgrim Rest Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at Norwood-Wyatt Chapel. Mr. Sanford was born in Fayette County on September 16, 1937, the son of the late L.W. and Vaudine Campbell Sanford. He was a lifelong resident of Fayette County and a member of the Ashcraft Corner Baptist Church. He formerly served in the United States Army and was a member of the Alabama National Guard. Other than his parents he is preceded in death by his sister, Aline Locke; brothers, Curt Sanford and Alford Sanford; and grandchild Nicholas Sanford. Survivors include his wife, Martha Lou Jones Sanford; daughters, Deborah Barney (Montey) and Donna Coker (Lewis); son, Dwayne Sanford; brothers, James Sanford (Jeraldine), Bill Sanford (Agnes); Leroy Sanford, and Larry Sanford (Euline); five grandchildren, Nathaniel Wallace, Kyle Coker, Blake Sanford, Kayla Ellis, and Victoria Wallace; and great-grandchildren, Kip Coker and Gabriel Sanford. Pallbearers will be Nathaniel Wallace, Kyle Coker, Blake Sanford, Charlie Dale Jones, Ethan Ellis, and Danny Simmons.
