Roger Belk, age 68, of Elberta passed away Monday, March 20, 2017. Visitation will be Thursday, March 23, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Mr. Belk was preceded in death by his parents, Aubrey and Ruby Belk; son, Michael Anthony Belk; grandparents, (paternal) Sam and Susan Belk and (maternal) George and Biddie Taylor. He is survived by his wife, Karen Belk of Elberta, AL; daughters, Angie Aldridge of Fayette, Shannon (Patrick) Burch of Cumming, GA; sons, Matt (Deana) Belk of Belk, Wes Whitted of Waynesville, NC; sisters, Jean Hollingsworth of Belk; sister-in-law, Vicki Owens of Talladega; niece, Dana Hollingsworth of Charlottesville, VA; nephew, Todd Hollingsworth of Tuscaloosa; grandchildren, Colby (Sasha) Aldridge, Caitlin Aldridge, Ty McClain, Emerson Burch; great grandchildren, Van Aldridge and Boyd Aldridge. Roger Dale Belk, passed away on Monday, March 20, 2017 in Elberta, AL. He was born on September 11, 1948 in Fayette, AL to Aubrey and Ruby Belk. Roger attended Kennedy High School and served his country proudly in the U.S. Army. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart, the Silver Star, and other meritorious awards. He then began work as an independent truck driver for forty-five years. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to the Wounded Warriors Project.
