Stanley Smith

Mr. Stanley Smith, age 76 of Fayette, passed away April 14, 2017 at home.  Services will be Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at New Friendship Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.  The body will lie in state Friday, April 21, 2017 from 3:00 p.m.  to 5:00 p.m. at Norwood-Wyatt Chapel and on Saturday one hour prior to the service at the church. Stanley was preceded in death by his daughter, Vikki Lee; mother, Marie Smith; father, Delmar Smith; sisters, Adell Smith and Mary Guyton; and brother, Willie C. Smith; grandparents, Bill Box and India Box. He is survived by his wife, Annie Lee Smith of Fayette, AL; daughters, Natasha Lee, Patricia Willingham, Marlana Walker and Glenda Smith; sons, Stanley Smith and Thomas Lee; sisters, Shirley Smith, Annie Lou and Annie Lee; and brother, Terry Smith. He was born and raised in Fayette, AL. He retired from Winfield Cotton Mill. Stanley was a member of New Friendship Baptist Church, where he served as a trustee until he became ill. Stanley always enjoyed fishing, going to the race tracks and fixing vehicles. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and teaching them about the outdoor life. Pallbearers are Willie Franks, LaBrandon Walker, David Smith, Chuck Franks, Jason Smith, Marcus Franks, Tavis Smith and Tyrone Savage. Honorary pallbearers are Stanley Lee, Thomas Lee, Jerry Smith and Paul Willingham. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to nieces, family and friends.
