Tressie Wood

Tressie Kathleen Black Wood, age 91, of Fayette, formerly of Birmingham, died June 25, 2010.Graveside services will be held Monday, June 28th at 2:00 p.m. at Elmwood Cemetery in Birmingham with Bro. Mark McGuire officiating and Norwood Chapel of Fayette directing. She was preceded in death by her husband; John Earl Wood, her daughter, Clara Patricia Wood, her son; John E. Wood Jr., her sister; Ada Lee Kopp and her brother; Bryce Black. Survivors include her daughter, Joy Wood Lawson (John) of Berry. Her sisters; Martha Dean Graham of Brookside, Joyce Fine of Ellicott City, Maryland and her brother E.Q. Black Jr. of Anniston. Grandchildren; Kevin Wood (Stacie) of Bessemer, Laura Wood Caraway (Thomas) of Florence, Brady Lawson (Kim) of Northport, Courtney Lawson Long (David) of Birmingham and Josh Lawson of Magnolia, Arkansas Great Grandchildren; David Wood (Sarah), Hollie Caraway Beard (Aaron), Caitlin, Austin, Evan and Kellsie Caraway. Emma, Abby Claire and John Brady Lawson, Lawson Long, Jordan and John Ross Forshee and Geoffrey Hunt. 4 Great Great Grandchildren Kathleen was born July 18, 1918. She was a member of Westwood Baptist Church and lived in the Forestdale community until 1995 when she moved to Berry to live with her daughter. Special thanks to the kind caregivers at Fayette Long Term Care for the love they gave our Mother and Grandmother at the last place she called home.
