August 18, 2010, Heaven rejoiced at the homegoing of Elsie Lorene Renfroe. She passed from Earth to Heaven at her residence in Bankston, Alabama surrounded by her family and friends. Born September 18, 1927 to Earnest and Mittie Dozier in Bell County, Kentucky, she was one of nine children. She was the beloved and devoted wife of the late Bro. John Renfroe, Pastor and Minister of the Gospel. Blessed to call her Mother were her nine children,Tim (Sue) Renfroe, Mike (Ann) Renfroe, Mona (Ralph) Lowery, Sonny (Elaine) Renfroe, Denny (Kathy) Renfroe, Kenny (Jan) Renfroe, Jimmy (Shirley) Renfroe, Pam (Ronnie) Knopp, Carolyn (Brian) Knopp; Nineteen proudly called her Grandma and to twenty-six she was Great-Grandma. Many claimed her as "Mama Renfroe" because of the abundance of love she showed toward all. She was a dedicated Christian, a true helpmate and an asset to her husband's ministry. It was her joy to serve others and you could always find a warm welcome at her home and a place at her table. For the past fifty years, she was a faithful member of Samantha Holiness Church where at different times she had served as Pastor's wife, Sunday School Teacher and Church Clerk. She was honored as a respected Church Mother and Elder. Visitation will be Friday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 at Samantha Holiness Church with a church service following at 7:00. Her Homegoing Service will be held Saturday, August 21, 10:00 a.m. at Samantha Holiness Church. Officiating will be Bro. Gary Grubbs, Bro. Ralph Lowery, Bro. Denny Renfroe and Bro. Jeremy Knopp. Her earthly body will be laid to rest at Boone Cemetery but her Spirit will return unto God who gave it. She will receive a joyous welcome from the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost and all the loved ones who preceded her to that Heavenly Home. She is once again with the one she loved the most. The family would like to thank all of those who prayed, sent cards, called or visited during our Mother's illness. We appreciate all the compassionate care she received from Dr. Reginald Motly, Hospice of Fayette, and all the family that shared in her care, especially her Grandaughter Angel Renfroe. Her theme song will forever echo in our ears: "Come and go with me to Gloryland. Come and go with me; just take my hand. What a time we'll have! It'll be so grand. Come and go with me to Gloryland."
