Loyce Rice Tuck

Mrs. Loyce Tuck age 93 of Fayette passed away Monday September 6, 2010 at the Hospice of West Alabama in Tuscaloosa. Funeral Service for Mrs. Tuck will be Thursday at 11:00am at Norwood Chapel with Dr. Tony Preston officiating. Burial will at the Highland Memorial Gardens in Bessemer. The visitation will be one hour prior to the service, from 10:00am until 11:00am at the funeral home. Born October 14, 1916 in Phil Campbell, Al. the daughter of the late William H. Rice and Dessie Bates Rice, Mrs. Tuck lived for many years in the Birmingham and Bessemer areas before moving to Fayette in April of 2007. She was formerely employed as a Supervivor for Independent Life Insurance Co. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bessemer and had an avid appreciation and love of music. She played piano for the church in her early years. In addition to her parents , she was preceded in death by husbands, Prentice G. Tuck and Ray M. Thompson; one brother, Hollis Rice and one sister, Willie Mae Preston; her son-in-law, Carroll Cochran. Survivors include a daugher, Bobbie R. Cochran of Fayette; her son Don W. (Jean) Thompson of Norcross, GA.; seven grandchildren, Nancy Davis, Philip, David, Terry, and Tim Cochran, Bill and Brian Thompson; eighteen great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren. Nephews and nieces; Dr. Tony (Brenda)Preston of Kansas City, MO., Ramona (Charlie)Armstrong and Rhonda (Charles) Morton of Nashville, TN. In lieu of flowers, memorial can be made to Hospice of West Alabama, 3851 Loop Road, Tuscaloosa, AL. 35404 Norwood Chapel Funeral Home in Fayette, directing
