Austin F. Keeney age 78 of Sulligent, AL died Thursday, September 2, 2010 at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, MS. Mr. Keeney was born in Elizabeth Town, IL to the late Jesse and Della Estes Keeney. He was of the Church of God faith and a veteran of the Korean War serving in the US Army. He had lived in the Sulligent area since 1991 and had retired from the Teamsters Union and the Pierson Building Supply as a Truck Driver in Hawaii. Survived by His Wife: Betty Markham Keeney of Sulligent, AL, Three Daughters: Sheila Cole and Cynthia and (Don) Rasberry both of Sulligent, AL and Judy (Dexter) Barnett of Brilliant, AL, Two Sons: Robert A. Keeney of Sulligent, AL and Rick (Michael) Gosa of Notasulga, AL, Four Sisters; Linda (Avery) Sneed of Rosiclare, IL, Ella (Bob) White of Batavia, IL, Charolotte Lane of Eldorado, IL and Elaine Bollinger of Texas, One Brother: Bob (Doris) Keeney of Missouri, Eight Grandchildren and Ten Great Grandchildren. Preceded in death by His Parents, Two Brothers, One Sister and a Great Grandson. Services held Sunday, September 5, 2010 at 2: PM from the Norwood Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the West Alabama Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Gu-Win, AL.Bro. Jimmy Green officiating. Visitation: Saturday, September 4, 2010 from 6-9 PM at the Norwood Funeral Home. Pallbearers were: Eric Dove, Tanner Dove, Cole Dove, Gaige Melendez, Ephram Carr and David Banta.
