Charles (Chuck) Walker

Mr. Charles (Chuck) Walker age 85 of Fayette passed away Thursday September 9, 2010 at the Fayette Medical Center. Funeral Service for Mr. Walker will be Saturday at 11:00am at Norwood Chapel with Bro. Kevin Beard and Dr. Jon Sanford officiating. Burial will follow at the New River Church of Christ Cemetery. The visitation will be Friday from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at the funeral home. Mr. Walker was born April 12, 1925 and was a life -long resident of Fayette. He is the son of the late Arthur Ulysses Walker and Della Suggs Mitchum. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving his country with the U.S. Merchant Marines. He retired as a radio and Electronics officer. He was a member of the Baptist Church. Chuck enjoyed playing golf and was a member of the Fayette Country Club for many years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wife, Hazel McConnell Walker and a brother John Walker. Survivors include his wife, Mary Roberson Walker; daughter, Elizabeth Walker (Jimmy) Adams; grandsons, Robert Walker Adams, Charles Edward Adams; step-daughter: Kimberly McArthur (Robert) Spiller; Step-grandson, Robert Wesley Spiller; one niece and one nephew.
