Catherine S. Winton

Catherine S. Winton age 94 of Sulligent, AL died Thursday September 9, 2010 at the Allen Memorial Home in Mobile, AL. She was born in Brewster County in Alpine, TX to the late Ralph Bernal and Mary Stanford Slight and she was the wife of the late Stewart Marion Winton. Mrs. Winton was a member of the Sulligent United Methodist Church and a Veteran of WW II in the Navy Wave and the American Legion in Sulligent, AL. She had also retired as a teacher from the Sulligent Elementary School and Co-owner with her husband at Winton’s Pharmacy. Survived by Three Daughters: Marion Kay Loftin and Susan Florence Winton both of Mobile, AL, Mary Catherine Miller of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Two Sons: Ralph Stewart Winton of Columbus, MS and David Maurice Winton III of Marion, AL, one Sister: Ruth Lucas of Kaawa, Hawaii, Five Grandchildren and Four Great Grandchildren. Proceeded in death by her husband and a brother: Fred A Slight of Laredo, TX. Memorial services held Sunday, September 12, 2010 at 3:00 PM from the Sulligent United Methodist Church with burial in the Sulligent City Cemetery. Bro. Mitch Nethery officiating. Visitation: Saturday, September 11, 2010 from 4-6 PM at the Norwood Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers Donations may be made to the Sulligent United Methodist Church.
