Flora Patton

Miss Flora Patton, age 91 of Fayette, died Sunday, October 17, 2010 at the Ridgewood Health Care Center in Jasper. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 21st at 2:00 p.m. at Hopewell Baptist Church with Bro. Lynell Early officiating. The body will lie in state at the church from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. The visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6:00-7:00 at Norwood Chapel. Miss Patton was born August 23, 1919 in Fayette to the late John Benton and Esther Skelton Patton. She was a resident of Fayette most of her life. She was a homemaker and a member of Hopewell Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by four brothers, Freddy, R.E., John D. and Paul Patton; two sisters Dorothy Davis and Mauline Wheyneman Hayes. Survivors include one sister, Lorene Pike of Berry; one brother, B. C. (Nelda) Patton of Aliceville and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Jesse Foster, Johnny Ryan, Shawn Ryan, George Ambrose, Brad Patton and Mark Patton. Norwood Chapel of Fayette directing.
