Guy Black

Guy Black age 78 of Guin, AL died Wednesday, October 20, 2010 in the Northwest Medical Center in Winfield, AL. Born in Beaverton, AL, he is the Son of the late James William and Lula Florence Weeks Black and the Husband of Sara Jane McDaniel Black. He had lived in Guin all of his life and was a member of the Guin First United Methodist Church, the Civitans and Civic Club in Guin and had served on the Guin City Council. He had owned and operated Black’s Hardware for 56 years, was a member of the Guin Fire Department for over 40 years and had served as Fire Chief for 20 years. He is survived by his Wife, Sara Jane Black of Guin, AL, A Son, Russell (Marcia) Black of Woodstock, GA, A Brother, Bob Black of Sulligent, AL, 2 Nephews, Randal and Keith Black, and A Brother In Law, Harold L. Wood of Birmingham, AL. He was also preceded in death by a Daughter, Peggy Black, A Sister, Jonnie Black Wood 2 Brothers, Ralph and Rex ”Pete” Black and a Sister In Law, Edith Black. Services held Friday, October 22, 2010 at 11:00 am from the Guin First United Methodist Church with burial in the Guin City Cemetery. Bro. Randy Wright and Bro. Art Rowe officiating.
