Frances Elizabeth Stevenson Vaughan Barnes, 93, of Chickamauga, Georgia passed away at her home, Saturday, November 20, 2010. Frances was a native of Flat Rock, Illinois, and has lived in Chickamauga, Georgia and Fayette, Alabama on and off for the past 40 years and was a member of Elizabeth Lee United Methodist Church. She has also lived in Lawrenceville, and Waynesboro, TN., earlier in her life. Frances and her first husband Horace W. Vaughan started and co-owned the Waynesboro Telephone Company, the Fayette Telephone Company, the Chickamauga Telephone Company, the Fulton Mississippi Telephone Company and the Ooltewah, Collegedale Telephone Company. She is preceded in death by her First Husband; Horace W. Vaughan, Second Husband; Arthur W. Barnes, Son; Stephen Wayne Vaughan, and Great Grandson; Lane Vaughan Smith. She is survived by her Daughter; Elizabeth Ann Vaughan of Ringgold, GA., Daughter-in-law; Sarah Faye Vaughan of Tuscaloosa, AL., Grandchildren; Thomas Vaughan and Amye Smith of Chickamauga, GA., and Elizabeth and Richard Englebert of Plano, TX., Three Step-Grandchildren; Donna and Tommy Norwood of Fayette, AL, Tinna and Duncan McKenzie of Starkville, MS, and Don and Bobbie Simmons of Tuscaloosa, AL, Six Great Grandchildren; Will Smith, Ty Smith, Amberley Smith, Mary Elizabeth Englebert, Maria Grace Englebert and Jacob Englebert, Four Step-Great Grandchildren; Stephen Kyle and Nikki South, Crystal Faye and Josh Mims, Matthew McKenzie and Johnathan McKenzie, Great Great Grandson; Gavin Smith, and three Step- Great Great Grandchildren; Ava Grace South, Braylen Mims, and Sarah Mims. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Monday, Nov.22nd in the Wilson Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Rick Maeser officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. A grave side service will be held Tuesday, Nov. 23rd at 2:00 p.m. at Fayette Memorial Gardens in Fayette, Alabama with Rev. Kathy Griffith officiating and Norwood Chapel of Fayette directing.
