Luther Hill

Mr. Luther Hill, age 79 of Fayette, passed away Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at DCH Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held Friday, Dec. 3rd at 11:00 a.m. at Norwood Chapel with Rev. Stan Willis and Rev. Bill Best officiating. Burial will be in the Shady Grove cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m at Norwood Chapel. Mr. Hill was born February 16, 1931 in Mississippi the son of Oscar O. Hill and Ollie B. Dailey Hill. He was a resident of Fayette Co. for 42 years and for the past 4 years was a resident of the VA Nursing Home in Tuscaloosa. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served his country during the Korean War. Mr. Hill was formerly employed with Randolph Dairy. He was a member of the Fayette First Assembly of God. Mr. Hill was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson, Jason Perkins; 2 sisters, Vivian Freeman and Vanessa Carey and one brother, Cecil Hill. Survivors include his wife Kittie C. Hill of Fayette; 3 daughters, Phillis (Tommy) Perkins and Darlyne (Billy) Dunn of Fayette; and Bonna (Jeff) Taylor of Kennedy; 3 sisters, Jewel (Jim) Smith of Las Vegas, NV; Glenda Duran of Ocala, FL; Barbara Williams of Conyers, GA; 3 brothers, C.J. (Linda) Hill of Blountsville, TN; Steve (Alice) Hill of Port St. Lucy, FL; Oscar (Carol) Hill of KY; 6 Grandchildren, Michael (Tracie) Perkins, Amanda Perkins, Shonna (Ryan) McFerrin, Blake (Emily) Taylor, Clay Taylor, and Mason Dunn; 5 great grandchildren, Alex Perkins, Anna & Abby Perkins, Kason Oakes, and Jake Taylor. Pallbearers are Michael Perkins, Blake Taylor, Clay Taylor, Ryan McFerrin, Mason Dunn and Alex Perkins. Honorary pallbearers are Heroes Haven (VA)Nursing Home Staff members.
