Betty Lou Smith Patton, age 81, of Northport, formerly of Berry, died May 7, 2019 in Tuscaloosa, AL. Services will be Saturday, May 11, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Norwood-Wyatt Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Scott Peters officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Hopewell-Rosehill Baptist Church cemetery. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Paul Patton; son, James Richard Patton; and three sisters and five brothers. Survivors include her daughter, Gerane Baker; grandson, Michael Dedeaux; and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Patton was born March 18, 1938 in Walker County, Alabama to the late Willie Edgar and Nora Smith. She retired from American Olean Tile, Inc. in Fayette many years ago. Pallbearers will be her nephews, Mark Patton, Brad Patton, Jimmy Clark, Denver Clark, Larry Clements, and Bill Smart. Honorary pallbearers are Comfort Care Hospice, Tuscaloosa, AL for providing assistance the past months of her life. A special thank you to her nurses, Keisha, Lauren and Aerial and aide Lamesha. Also, a special thank you to her loving sitters, Kendra Browning and Melissa Hallman. They provided her with tremendous love and care in the last months of her life.
